Here are five things you need to know about One Call, whose

1. One Call is made up of José Bordonada of Puerto Rico, AG Gamlieli of Seattle, Justin Thorne of Los Angeles, and Chris Moy of New York. The band literally got their band name from a phone call. "Our manager pretty much gave us each one phone call and said, 'Do you wanna be in this?'" Justin explains. "And we said, 'Yup!' From that one call, we all got together. It has multiple meanings -- everyone usually has one calling in life, and ours is entertainment."

2. One Call's first single is "Blacklight," which the group calls a fun party record. "Under a blacklight, different things come out, so being [that it's] our first single, it's like the first kind of light that's going to be shined on us. A blacklight shows something that hasn't been seen before, which is us," Justin tells J-14.

3. The "Blacklight" music video features cameos by Glee's Kevin McHale, Pretty Little Liars' Ashley Benson, and Kendall Jenner. Justin has been friends with Ashley for years and was in NLT with Kevin, so he introduced them to One Call. "We all became really good friends, so whenever we're out in L.A., we just hang out and have a good time," Chris tells us. "Kendall's mom, Kris Jenner, is working with one of our management partners, Kenneth Crear, so he brought up the idea to her to be in the video and she was like, 'Sure. I love the song. Let's do it.'"

4. Growing up, all of the boys were big *NYSNC fans -- well, except for Chris, who dreamed of joining the Backstreet Boys one day! "I was a Backstreet Boys fan, and then later as a I got older, I focused more on the performance and [liked] *NSYNC," he says. "I was converted."

5. The boys used to be obsessed with playing Mario Kart Wii on their downtime. "People were getting angry," AG admits. "We'd be sitting on the couch and if someone's leg was touching someone's knee, they'd be like, 'You totally just screwed up! You threw me off!'"

19-year-old Jose Bordonada Collazo is another self-confessed "talent show kid" whose been singing since he was five and started dancing when he was 11. He's a high full tenor, and he brings a pop voice to the group. From Puerto Rico (Manati, in the North of the island), his first language is Spanish, but he's fully bilingual. He had maybe the most difficult time in the Making Menudo competition than any of the contestants, coming down sick during the weeks of the competition and getting put "on probation" in front of a national TV audience. But he hung in and came through. "We were really focused," he recalls. He points out something about the backstage drama captured by the reality-show cameras: "Some of us had a little bit of, like, you know, uh, moments with other guys where we would disagree."

Menudo(2007-2008);;
Coming out of Puerto Rico in the 1970s, MENUDO was the first, and the greatest, of a wave of talented singing and dancing groups that's still relevant 30 years later. The legendary group has sold over 40 million records worldwide, broke numerous attendance records including: 13 consecutive sellout performances at Radio City Music Hall, 200,000 fans at a soccer stadium in Rio de Janeiro, over 500,000 fans at a Mexico City concert and launching the career of international superstar Ricky Martin. Now–two generations later–a new, updated version of MENUDO is back, with a contemporary sound and look, and the same universal appeal. The five new members Carlos Olivero (19 years old, Mexican/Puerto Rican, Chicago, IL); Chris Moy (16 years old, Puerto Rican/Venezuelan/Chinese, Bronx / Dutchess County, NY); Emmanuel Vélez Pagán (18 years old, Puerto Rican, Trujillo Alto, PR); José Bordonada Collazo (16 years old, Puerto Rican, Manati, Puerto Rico) and Monti Montañez (19 years old, Puerto Rican, Caguas, Puerto Rico / Now Laredo, TX) are young, polished, highly professional singing-and-dancing boy group. They released their first new music on their More Than Words EP that was released on December 18, 2007 exclusively in Target stores around the country where it completely sold through by mid-January.

People know and love this new MENUDO already. The new group came together on the MTV & MTV Tr3s reality series Making Menudo. Viewers watched the dramatic competition week after week, as fifteen young Latinos, chosen from nationwide search went through a demanding "boy-band boot camp" designed by legendary pop impresario Johnny Wright to train and choose the five best suited for the even harder job of working professionally as a performing team. Five dedicated, ultra-talented guys between the ages of 15 and 18 were chosen. Carlos, Jose, Monti, Emmanuel and Chris underwent a rigorous process of musical, choreographic, and professional education that required them to excel individually and to work together as a cohesive unit. Each one can sing lead, and each one specializes in a particular style of music. But they all do all styles, and they harmonize together.

But they all do it all, and they love the fact that the new MENUDO's music is multi-generic. And it's the sound of now; this isn’t your grandma’s MENUDO. They’ve recorded more than 50 new songs for their first album already, and are already veterans after working with a wide variety of contemporary producers and writers including Danja, The Clutch, J.R. Rotem, Oak, Brian Kennedy, Elvis Williams, Akon, Red One, The Runners, and The Jams. Asked about their new album, José says, "urban pop, R & B, ballads, Latin flavors, a little bit of electronic also. Some of those songs are just those types, some of the songs are all those types together. Music for the clubs, and music just to hear." Monti adds, laughing, "Music that has never been heard before! New styles! It's definitely gonna be loved by everybody. Everybody can relate to it. We put a lot of emotion into our songs, so we want to touch lives, we want to touch people."

And touch them they did with the release of their first single last summer called Lost. It became the first song in the storied history of Menudo to make the Top 40. And during the past year, Menudo appeared at the White House, opened for the Jonas Brothers on tour, starred in Bandemonium, a boy band tour, appeared on numerous English and Spanish language television shows broadcast to millions of people and are preparing for the release of their next single and the album to follow.

How does it feel to step into MENUDO’s shoes? Monti says, "Menudo – I think of legendary, I think of history. I think of millions and millions of fans that loved Menudo and respected Menudo. Menudo was not only loved by the Latin community. They were international stars, they were loved by international people. The globe loved Menudo. And to be part of that, it's a huge honor. It's definitely a blessing. Of course, like Carlos said, we're bringing Latino back but we’re doing this for everybody!" When it comes from him, it doesn’t sound like hype. They're serious. And the passion comes through when they start to sing.

Asked about their new four-song More Than Words EP, they count it off and drop into More Than Words (A E I O U), the number they performed on the finale of Making Menudo, produced by Danja and written by The Clutch. They bust out the complicated five-part harmonies just like they were singing on the street corner. The EP features the Spanish version “Mas Que Amore (A E I O U), their other original song Move and their remake of Donny Hathaway’s This Christmas. This MENUDO is very much for real. Talented. Hard working. Focused. Entertaining.

One Call(2008-Present);;
"It's funny how one call can change your whole life," remarked Chris Moy, giving name to the new band formed by legendary music executive Johnny Wright. All four members were brought together from different parts of the country, with different musical experiences, to create a new wave of pop music magic. Johnny Wright is no stranger when it comes to putting together a superstar group and rocketing them to success, as he's done time and again with the Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, and The Jonas Brothers, among others.

The four members of One Call—AG Gamlieli from Seattle, WA, Justin Thorne from Los Angeles, CA, Chris Moy from the Bronx, NY, and Jose Bordonada from Manati, Puerto Rico—are also very familiar with what it takes to make it or break it in pop music.

As a former member of boy group, NLT; Justin has shared in the success of 3 singles on the charts and a national tour with The Pussycat Dolls. Now as a member of One Call, he's sure to share his experiences with his new "band of brothers".

Justin isn't the only one with some experience under his belt, though. Chris and Jose B. are neither strangers to the music world nor Johnny Wright, having previously been hand selected by Johnny out of thousands of young hopefuls on an MTV series, Making Menudo, to become members of the latest version of the legendary latin boyband. After a successful summer single and tour dates with the Jonas Brothers, the members of Menudo took different paths, but Jose and Chris were ready for another shot at success.

Growing up, AG knew that he was destined for the spotlight. When your parents own a dance studio, music just becomes a way of life. With his high energy dance skills and edgy vocals, it was only a matter of time before he would cross paths with Johnny Wright.
